DraftKings picks: Jones, Cano, Cuddyer

DraftKings participants will have many ways to win today, a day replete with several elite pitching options and a handful of underwhelming arms against whom to stack. Let's take a look at some savvy picks, shall we?

Chris Davis (Orioles): The owner of a career .849 OPS vs. right-handers (.731 vs. lefties), the first baseman could rip a round-tripper at homer-happy Rogers Centre against Blue Jays righty Aaron Sanchez. In his first two Major League starts, the youngster has compiled a 6.23 ERA and a 1.96 WHIP.

Adam Jones (Orioles): With a career .799 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .755 mark vs. southpaws, Jones could also have success against Sanchez, who struggled vs. the O's on April 11.

:: Fred Zinkie's Daily Picks ::

Alejandro De Aza (Orioles): De Aza could be an integral part of a formidable O's stack on Wednesday, when he will likely lead off against Toronto's Sanchez. In his career, the outfielder has collected 35 of his 40 homers and 70 of his 81 steals against right-handed hurlers.

Seth Smith (Mariners): With Seattle -- the owner of a career .839 OPS against righties (.604 vs. lefties) -- Smith could lead a high-scoring attack against the Astros at a reasonable DraftKings cost.

Robinson Cano (Mariners): With a lifetime .320/.366/.528 slash line against right-handers, Cano on Wednesday could reach base multiple times against Roberto Hernandez, who owns a career 1.41 WHIP.

Kyle Seager (Mariners): With a lifetime .809 OPS against right-handers (.667 vs. lefties), the third baseman could be part of a Seattle hitter stack against Hernandez.

Jose Altuve (Astros): The Astros could keep pace with the Mariners in a high-scoring contest Wednesday, as Seattle is scheduled to start lefty J.A. Happ (career 4.22 ERA and 1.38 WHIP). The second baseman -- who has posted a career .880 OPS against lefties in comparison to a .692 mark vs. right-handers -- could reach base and score runs in multiples.

Jed Lowrie (Astros): DraftKings participants could create a middle-infield stack by combining Altuve and Lowrie. With a career .793 OPS against southpaws (.718 vs. right-handers), the shortstop could have multiple opportunities to drive in runs from the heart of the Astros' lineup against the southpaw-tossing Happ.

Ike Davis (A's): Davis is off to a great start with Oakland, as he has produced a home run, seven RBIs and a .317 average across 41 at-bats. He could smack another homer on Wednesday, when he brings his career .815 OPS vs. right-handers (.580 vs. lefties) into a matchup against Jered Weaver, the Angels' fly-ball-inducing right-hander.

Stephen Vogt (A's): DraftKings participants sometimes struggle to find productive catchers, but Vogt could be a strong option for Wednesday. The Oakland backstop has posted a career .758 OPS vs. right-handers such as Weaver, and he is hitting .366 with four homers and 12 RBIs in 41 at-bats this season.

Michael Cuddyer (Mets): Hitting .333 with a homer and seven RBIs in 45 at-bats this year, the outfielder could continue his April surge when he brings his career .886 OPS vs. left-handers (.782 vs. righties) into a matchup against Braves lefty Eric Stults on Wednesday.

Yonder Alonso (Padres): Alonso has recorded a career .760 OPS vs. right-handers (.666 against lefties), and he could rip a round-tripper against righty Kyle Kendrick (career 4.46 ERA) at homer-happy Coors Field on Wednesday. The 28-year-old should not be regarded as the creme de la creme of daily first basemen, but his cost-effective price allows for DraftKings participants to select high-end hitters at other positions.

Ender Inciarte (D-backs): The outfielder has compiled balanced batting splits in his young career, but he has produced 18 of his 21 lifetime steals against right-handers. Such could work in his favor Wednesday, when he will likely lead off at his hitter-friendly venue against Rangers righty Yovani Gallardo (career 1.31 WHIP).

Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers): Kershaw could win a low-scoring showdown against fellow ace Madison Bumgarner on Wednesday. The Dodgers' southpaw has compiled a 12.76 K/9 rate in 2015, and he could dominate at pitcher-friendly AT&T Park vs. a Giants offense that has averaged 2.64 runs per game this season.

David Price (Tigers): DraftKings participants unwilling to pay for Kershaw -- who will be opposing stiff competition in Bumgarner -- could opt for Tigers ace Price. Set to pitch against the Yankees at home, Price will be countering No. 5 hurler Adam Warren, who has made just five big league starts. After fanning 271 batters last season, Price appears to have a notable advantage entering Wednesday.

Ubaldo Jimenez (Orioles): Jimenez has yet to allow a run this season, which includes seven shutout innings in a win against the Blue Jays on April 11. On Wednesday, he could defeat Toronto for a second time this month if he can outpitch the struggling Sanchez. The O's right-hander has held same-sided hitters to a .682 OPS in his career, and Toronto's three most dangerous sluggers -- Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson -- bat from the right side.

Archie Bradley (D-backs): DraftKings participants who select a high-priced ace such as Kershaw or Price will likely need to find an inexpensive second starter such as Bradley. And despite having matched up against Kershaw and Bumgarner in his first two big league starts, the rookie owns a 1-0 record with a 1.42 ERA in 2015. If he continues to pitch effectively during his third outing, Bradley could come away with a win against Gallardo and a Rangers squad that will have to work without the designated-hitter spot.

All statistics are accurate through the completion of Monday's games.
