Entrance Music Recommendations
When Chicago White Sox closer Addison Reed visited the MLB Fan Cave in 2012, he asked fans to help him choose a new walkout song to amp him up when he entered in the ninth inning to shut the door.
The #CloserMusic challenge never came to fruition, as Kid Rock’s “Bawitdaba” continued to blare through the speakers at U.S. Cellular Field until the end of the season.
When he entered in the ninth to close out Chris Sale’s gem on Monday, it still hadn’t changed.
We’ll work on Addison if he comes back for a visit when the Sox come to town in May. Until then, fellow Cave Dweller Marcus Hall (@_MHa11) and I came up with some suggestions for walkout music for other players around the league.
Travis’ picks:
Wade Miley – “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus
Ricky Romero – “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley
Carlos Santana – “Smooth” by Santana (feat. Rob Thomas)
Dillon Gee – “OMG” by Usher
Michael Young – “Young Forever” by Jay-Z
Marcus’ Picks:
BJ and Justin Upton – “Party Up (Up In Here)” by DMX
David Price – “The Price is Right” theme song
Adam Jones – “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows
Jered Weaver – “Dream Weaver” by Gary Wright
Matt Holliday – “Holiday” by Madonna
