Feliz impresses in return from disabled list

ANAHEIM -- Since returning to the Rangers earlier this month, Neftali Feliz has been quite impressive.

Coming off Tommy John ligament replacement surgery, the right-hander has worked 3 1/3 scoreless innings in three games since being reinstated from the 60-day disabled list Sept. 1.

He tossed one inning in Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Angels, allowing two hits.

"We want to get him out there as much as we can and face hitters," manager Ron Washington said. "I saw him get on top of some pitches last night, which is a good sign."

While Texas is excited about Feliz's fastball velocity, the team is hoping he can also work on his secondary pitches.

"He is getting a feel for other pitches, which could be a blessing," Washington said.
