For A's Moss, being dad at Christmas can't be beat
A's first baseman Brandon Moss, coming off the first 30-home run season of his career, is now enjoying some downtime with his family in his native Georgia.
The holidays are always a busy time for the Mosses, but this year is even more special for the family of four, with Brandon, wife Allie and 4-year-old son Jayden getting to enjoy Christmas for the first time with 8-month-old Brody.
Moss recently took some time to talk to MLB.com about his favorite holiday memories, past and present.
MLB.com: What are your best memories of the holidays from when you were growing up?
Moss: Going over to my grandma's and playing football with my dad and cousins.
MLB.com: What's your favorite thing about the holidays now?
Moss: Just being with my family. My wife and I really enjoy shopping for our boys and getting into the Christmas spirit.
MLB.com: What's it like being a dad around Christmas time?
Moss: Being a dad is 10 times more fun than being a kid during Christmas, because you get to relive everything through the eyes of your own children.
MLB.com: What's the best present you ever got when you were a kid?
Moss: A mini dirt bike.
MLB.com: What's the best present you ever gave?
Moss: A tanning bed.
MLB.com: Does your family have any special holiday traditions?
Moss: Every year we get together to make Christmas candy at my grandparents.
MLB.com: How would you describe yourself as a shopper?
Moss: Impulsive, yet indecisive.
MLB.com: If you could give [A's GM] Billy Beane anything for Christmas, what would it be?
Moss: Definitely a large framed picture of myself. What better gift could there be?
