Four Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that four Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Minnesota Twins Minor League right-handed pitcher Hudson Boyd has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program. The suspension of Boyd, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 Midwest League season.

Free agent Minor League right-handed pitcher Chris Capper has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program. The suspension of Capper will be effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.

Texas Rangers Minor League outfielder Chris Grayson has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Amphetamine, a stimulant in violation of the Program. The suspension of Grayson, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders of the Texas League, will be effective immediately at the start of the 2015 Texas League season.

Cleveland Indians Minor League right-handed pitcher Duke von Schamann has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program. The suspension of von Schamann, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Akron RubberDucks of the Eastern League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 Eastern League season.
