The San Francisco Giants Baseball Club will open its 57th season at home in San Francisco on Tuesday, April 8 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In preparation for the 15th season at AT&T Park, the team held its annual Media Open House today, where team officials, unveiled a new smartphone app, promotions, food offerings and ballpark upgrades to further enhance the fan experience at AT&T Park.

The team also unveiled its 2014 marketing campaign - All Together, Stronger Together - inspired by the unique connection between Giants players and fans.

"We look forward to welcoming all of our fans back to AT&T Park - including our 30,000 season ticket members. The energy, commitment and excitement that our fans bring to the ballpark each and every day is what makes AT&T Park one of the best experiences in all of baseball, said Larry Baer, Giants president and chief executive officer. "Opening Day will mark our 247th consecutive sellout and we are excited to welcome the fans back to the ballpark to discover and experience many of the new amenities and upgrades we've been hard at work on during the off season."

Construction and tech workers have been working around the clock throughout the off season to build several new physical and virtual upgrades to enhance the AT&T Park experience for fans.

iBeacons and At the Ballpark app

The Giants installed iBeacons in locations throughout the ballpark. iBeacon technology uses Bluetooth Low Energy and geofencing for micro-location awareness. This allows the team to communicate specific information directly to fans with an Apple iOS7 device as they come into range of an iBeacon. Coupled with the At the Ballpark smartphone app, fans will be able to "check in" when they arrive at AT&T Park to receive exclusive offers; find their favorite ballpark foods; upgrade their seat; manage all their ticket needs; list player walk-up music; connect with the Giants social media accounts; view game highlights; access closed captioning; text-to-security; and much more to personalize their AT&T Park experience. MLB.com At the Ballpark App is the official MLB ballpark mobile application, available for iPhone and Android Smartphones. Fans who have downloaded the MLB.com At the Ballpark application on an iOS7 device will automatically be "checked in" to AT&T Park as long as their Bluetooth is activated.   Fans can learn more at sfgiants.com/ballparkapp or text BALLPARK to 31826 to download the At the Ballpark app.

The Garden

In partnership with Bon Appetit Management Company, the Giants premium food and beverage partner, the Giants are building a first-of-its-kind organic garden at AT&T Park. Located below the main scoreboard in Centerfield, The Garden will serve as a showcase for sustainability and wellness in the heart of one of America's most beloved ballparks. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-May.

On game days, fans will have the opportunity to engage directly with a working garden that will produce a diverse, edible bounty of foods. In addition to edible plants, The Garden will include AT&T Park's sod farm where fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the game action through "knotholes" in the Centerfield Wall. Beyond game days, The Garden will be utilized year-round for fan engagement, community outreach and hospitality functions. It will also serve as a unique outdoor classroom where Bay Area children can learn about sustainability, urban farming and healthy eating.

Premium Seating

The Giants also unveiled premium seating and group areas: The Dockers Deck, Candlestick Suite and Press Club. In partnership with Dockers, the Giants have created an all-inclusive party space that provides spectacular views of AT&T Park and its surrounding landmarks with tabletop seating. The Dockers Deck is located in the Fan Lot in front of the giant glove. The Candlestick Suite will be sold on a game-by-game basis. Its décor pays homage to the Giants days at Candlestick Park, featuring authentic seats and other memorabilia from the 'Stick. While fans are not allowed to sit inside the working press box, this season they can sit adjacent to it, in the Press Club. The Press Club will accommodate up to 30 people and be easily recognized by its all black, cushioned seats.

The Gotham Club

The Gotham Club, a private, speakeasy-style social club will provide a members-only experience at AT&T Park while celebrating the rich 132-year history of the Giants franchise. The Gotham Club name pays tribute to the original name of the Giants - The New York Gothams. Members will receive game day access to three Club venues located throughout AT&T Park - The Clubhouse, The Bullpen and The Game Room. The Clubhouse, opening in late spring, is located inside the out-of-town scoreboard and will provide exclusive dining for members. This location is reminiscent of the Giants Clubhouse at the Polo Grounds in New York, which was located in centerfield. The Bullpen, which connects directly to The Clubhouse, sits along the right field warning track and provides members with on-field access to view batting practice before every game. The Game Room, located on the Oracle Suite Level, features bowling lanes and a billards table and drew inspiration from Giants Hall of Famer John McGraw. McGraw skippered the New York Giants to 10 National League pennants and three World Series championships between 1902 and 1932. Off the field, he owned pool halls and bowling alleys and invented the sport of duck pin bowling.

Special Events

Fans can participate in many of the special events and fundraisers with the purchase of a special events ticket. This includes Farewell to the 'Stick Night on Thursday, April 10, when the Giants will take a look back at the ballpark they called home from 1960 to 1999. Several Giants and 49ers alumni will be honored before the game and a pre-game panel discussion, requiring a special ticket, will feature former Giants Skipper Roger Craig, Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda and 49er Favorite Roger Craig. The First Annual Giants Sports Antique Show will take place on Tuesday, April 29, pre-game in Seals Plaza. Fans will be selected to display the best-of-the-best in sports memorabilia and antiques. Chumlee, star of the History Channel's Pawn Stars, will serve as host and event curator. Other highlights include: Metallica Night on Friday, May 16; Heroes and Comics Night on Saturday, June 7; Hello Kitty Day on Sunday, June 8; Pixar Day at the Park on Sunday, June 29; and Orange Friday Happy Hour, 80s Night on Friday, July 25.
