Giants Ring Ceremony

Sunday was a great day for the San Francisco Giants and their fans. It was the day that the Giants received their 2012 World Series championship rings. Little did the fans know that the day would become memorable for another reason.

The ceremonial first pitch was one of a kind. How was it unique? Well, instead of someone throwing to a "catcher," the Giants roster threw to multiple "catchers" consisting of team fans. That's right; each member of the team threw a ball to a fan.

I love to see gestures like this. I think it's always great when a team shows their fans that they're appreciated. This is the type of thing that strengthens the bond between a team and its loyal supporters.
