There's a street in Evansville, Ind. -- once called North Main Street -- that stretches by a baseball field known as Bosse Field.

These days, that street is known as Don Mattingly Way.

"It's where I grew up over there," Mattingly told The Los Angeles Times. "I played Little League at that park. The stadium is Bosse Field, where the Triple-A team [Evansville Triplets] played, and we played our high school games. It's a really cool stadium."

It's only fitting that the street is now named for Mattingly, who is the most famous baseball player to come from Evansville.

Evansville is where he played Little League Baseball and won a championship. It's where he led the Reitz Memorial High School Tigers to 59 straight victories between 1978 and '79.

Then in 1979, Mattingly was drafted in the 19th round by the Yankees, where he was a six-time All-Star and American League MVP in '85, and then began a coaching career that brought him to Los Angeles as the Dodgers' manager.
