Astros' Double-A affiliate to host Texas League All-Star Game

Contest scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT on June 30 at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi

HOUSTON -- The Corpus Christi Hooks, the Astros' Double-A affiliate, will play host to the 2015 Texas League All-Star Game, the team announced Tuesday.

The 79th installment of the Texas League All-Star Game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT June 30 at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Fans will be treated to a postgame fireworks show at the "Ballpark by the Bay," plus a pregame home run derby.

"We are delighted to team up with CITGO on what promises to be an afternoon and evening of remarkable entertainment," Hooks founder and Astros president of business operations Reid Ryan said.

Said Hooks president Ken Schrom: "I like to think the Hooks are entrenched in the Coastal Bend; certainly that is the case with CITGO. Meaningful community service through volunteerism and social responsibility through development programs help set CITGO apart."

Corpus Christi hosted the Texas League All-Star Game previously in 2007.
