Indians acquire of Collin Cowgill from the Los Angeles Angels

The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has acquired OF COLLIN COWGILL from the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations.
 
Cowgill, 29, owns a career Major League batting average of .236 (160-677) with 22 doubles, 4 triples, 12 home runs and 57 RBI in 308 Major League games with four Major League teams across five seasons since 2011. The right-handed batting native of Lexington, KY has spent the last two and a half seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, appearing in 55 games with the Angels in 2015 across all 3 outfield positions despite missing 84 games, May 26-August 31, with a sprained right wrist. He owns a career batting average of .271 (94-347, .733 OPS) against left-handed pitching at the Major League level. He began his professional career in 2008 after being selected by Arizona in the 5th round of the First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Kentucky.
 
To allow room for Cowgill on the 40-man roster, the club has designated LHP NICK HAGADONE for assignment. Additionally, the Indians did not tender a contract to Hagadone for the 2016 season.
