Is There Anything Michael Cuddyer Can't Do?

Colorado Rockies veteran outfielder Michael Cuddyer is more than a powerful right-handed slugger. As detailed in a Sunday article in the Denver Post, Cuddyer, a budding photographer and skilled magician, is a man of many interests and talents. And sharing sharing those off-field passions in the clubhouse this spring has helped him break the ice with his new teammates.

Patrick Saunders:

Cuddyer would often stay behind to take photographs of Major League Ballparks, rise early to catch a sunrise or colorful skies. Cuddyer has already self-published a book of his own photos & hopes to have another of his ballpark photos, while donating the profits to charity. Much like his approach to hitting, Cuddyer studies all facets of photography and seeks out the advice from professionals.

Cuddyer, who recently became a father of twins, is a busy man. In addition to his baseball and parenting responsibilities, he also devotes a considerable amount of time to his nonprofit charity, Cheerful Givers, which gives birthday gifts to underprivileged children. Throw in the magic and photography, and it is clear that he has a lot on his plate.

The Rockies are hoping that Cuddyer will thrive in Coors Field, adding a potent bat to the middle of the lineup. Through just a few weeks of Spring Training, though, he is already making an impact on the clubhouse with his entertainment offerings. And, as was the case during his tenure with the Minnesota Twins, he could soon emerge as one of the key leaders on the Colorado roster.

And, let it be known: Cuddyer is welcome to perform his signature card tricks at the MLB Fan Cave anytime.
