Jose Fernandez Jacket Struggles

Before this year, Miami Marlins young righty Jose Fernandez had never pitched above A-ball. Given the lack of professional experience, many argued that Fernandez was not yet ready for the Majors. Well, in his first career start, he went five innings while only allowing one run against the New York Mets. Fernandez followed that up with six scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies last night. Not bad for someone who's never pitched above A-ball, eh?

In addition to his strong outing on the mound, Fernandez even collected his first hit (an RBI single!) against Cole Hamels. That's where things went a bit south for the rookie hurler. He attempted to put on his jacket and, well, he couldn't quite figure it out until receiving some assistance from an umpire.

All in all, it was a memorable night for Fernandez. He went six scoreless in his home debut, picked up his first hit off of an ace and more than 20,000 people watched him struggle to put on his jacket. These are the stories you'll tell your grandchildren.
