Omaha Storm Chasers (3-3)

Omaha dropped to 1-1 vs. Memphis. P.J. Walters, a Redbird from 2008 to 2011, allowed three runs, four hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.0 innings. Paulo Orlando was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Brian Fletcher added two hits, two walks, an RBI and a run. He is batting .438 (7-for-16) with a .500 on-base percentage.

NW Arkansas Naturals (2-4)

Midland 20, NW Arkansas 8
LP: Jason Adam (0-1)
HR: Jorge Bonifacio (1), Mark Threlkeld (1)

The Naturals were swept in a three-game set at Midland. The RockHounds built a 14-1 lead, including six runs in the fifth. Every Northwest Arkansas batter recorded at least one hit, with Justin Trapp going 3-for-5. Jorge Bonifacio hit a grand slam in the sixth and Mark Threlkeld added a leadoff homer in the seventh.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (2-3)

Myrtle Beach 5, Wilmington 3

HR: Bubba Starling (1)

The Blue Rocks lost their home opener to Myrtle Beach. Sean Manaea (3.1 IP, 3 H, 4 R, took the loss in his professional debut. Bubba Starling hit his first home run at the High-A level, a three-run blast in the fifth. Raul Mondesi added two hits and a run.

Lexington Legends (3-3)

The Legends split a pair of seven-inning games at home. Mauricio Ramos posted two doubles, and RBI and a run in game one. Kevin McCarthy tossed 3.0 shutout innings for a relief win. Austin Fairchild had an excellent outing in game two, holding Rome hitless over 6.0 innings. He fanned seven, walked three and allowed an unearned run.
