Kline undergoes surgery, will miss 6-8 weeks
Branden Kline, Baltimore's second round pick in last June's First-Year Player Draft, had surgery Thursday to repair a fracture in his right leg.
The right-hander out of the University of Virginia will miss about 6-8 weeks while recovering from the injury to his ankle/fibula area.
Ranked No. 8 on the Orioles' prospect list by MLB.com, Kline, 21, is 1-2 this season with a 5.86 ERA in seven starts for Class A Delmarva.
The Orioles expect Kline to recover and pitch again this season. He sustained the injury during a between-starts workout.
