Make Opening Day a National Holiday

Ozzie Smith is heading to Washington, and he's on a mission. Smith and Budweiser have teamed up to create an official White House petition to make MLB Opening Day a national holiday. If 100,000 signatures are collected within 30 days, the White House is required to respond.

Of course, Opening Day is already an unofficial holiday; 22 million Americans admit to having "played hooky" in order to watch or attend Opening Day games.
