Mariners announce signings of 27 of 40 Draft picks

8 of top 10 and 15 of top 20 draft picks have signed professional contracts

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Director of Amateur Scouting Tom McNamara announced today that the club has signed 27 of the club's 40 selections from last week's Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft.

The 27 signings include 8 of the top 10 selections and 15 of the top 20. All Major League teams have until July 17, 2015 (2 pm PT) to sign drafted players with remaining college eligibility.

The Mariners selected 25 pitchers, including 7 left-handers, 2 catchers, 9 infielders (3 1B, 4 SS, 2 3B), and 4 outfielders. Seattle selected 27 college players and 13 high school players.
