Mariners announce Spring Training schedule

33-game slate includes 18 at Peoria Sports Complex

The Mariners announced their 2016 Cactus League schedule on Tuesday, a 33-game slate that includes 18 home games at Peoria Sports Complex.

The schedule starts with a March 2 matchup against the Padres in the annual charity game, with proceeds benefitting local charitable and youth organizations in the Peoria, Ariz., area. The two teams, who share the facility, then play again the following day.

The Mariners will host four night games against the Dodgers (March 12), D-backs (March 19), A's (March 23) and Rockies (April 1). They'll also play three games against the World Series champion Royals, hosting them on March 9 and March 28. The Mariners' most frequent opponent is the Rockies, whom they'll play four times, including the conclusion to their Cactus League schedule at Salt River Fields on April 2.

Mariners pitchers and catchers will take part in their first workouts on Feb. 20 and the first full-squad workouts are scheduled for Feb. 25. The team's complete Spring Training schedule can be found on Mariners.com. Information regarding radio and TV coverage on 710 ESPN Seattle and ROOT SPORTS Northwest will be announced at a later date.

A special presale of single-game Spring Training tickets for Mariners season-ticket holders and Mariners.com registered users will be held Dec. 5 to 7. They'll be available to all fans, online only, beginning Dec. 12. The Peoria box office opens Jan. 9.
