Pirates outfielder Starling Marte went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored in his season debut for the Leones, who beat the Tigres to avoid a third straight loss. Red Sox first baseman Mauro Gomez tripled, doubled and collected four RBIs for Escogido, while Engel Beltre (Rangers) was 4-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored for Licey. Box score

A's farmhand Bruce Billings allowed one hit over four innings and combined with four relievers on a three-hitter as the first-place Estrellas blanked the Toros. Cubs prospect Nelson Perez was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and former Major Leaguer Todd Linden also had two hits and scored twice for Oriente. Bartolo Colon was hospitalized after he was struck in the mouth by a line drive in the Gigantes' win over the Aguilas. The former Cy Young Award winner was hit in the fifth inning by a shot off the bat of the Gigantes' Marcell Ozuna, the Marlins' No. 5 prospect. Padres infielder Alexi Amarista slugged a pinch homer leading off the bottom of the ninth inning as the Caribes snapped the Tiburones' three-game winning streak. Marlins farmhand Josh Schmidt struck out seven over six innings as the Aguilas blanked the Bravos to move into first place.
