May MVP is Melky Cabrera

Melky Cabrera is hands down the MVP for the month of May. When the Giants acquired Melky, many of my friends asked me for my take on the move. Although I was well aware that his time in Kansas City could have been a career-best for him, I would always answer the same: "wait and see." When I went on MLB Player Poll for the first time, I was asked if I was concerned about the Giants' offense. My reply was that I believe Melky Cabrera is going to provide the punch that we need in our lineup.

Of course, Melky's numbers speak for themselves. In 119 at-bats in May, he had 51hits, 13 doubles and 17 RBIs, batting .429 with a .457 OBP and .647 slugging percentage. He passed Willie Mays and tied Randy Winn for the most hits in a single month with 51! I mean, come on, that is insane. But it's beyond the numbers. He picked up the slack after a few notable injuries and was a spark plug that kicked us into gear in May. Ladies and Gentlemen, the #MelkManDelivers.

This is why he is the MVP. He has the numbers, but he has brought a new life to our team, and you can't ask for anything better than that. Oh and I forgot to mention, you can add #PANDAPIED to his resume, as he was the latest victim. I rest my case.
