Mets Minor Leaguer Peterson suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that New York Mets Minor League right-handed pitcher Tim Peterson has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for a metabolite of Trenbolone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Peterson, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 FSL season.
