Mets-Nats postponed; twin bill today
NEW YORK -- Friday night's game between the Mets and Nationals has been postponed due to rain. The two teams will play a split doubleheader at 1:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Saturday at Citi Field.
Noah Syndergaard will start Game 1 for the Mets opposite Gio Gonzalez, with Matt Harvey and Max Scherzer pitching the nightcap.
Though the Mets have already clinched a postseason berth, they are still vying for home-field advantage. The Mets trail the Dodgers, their first-round National League Division Series opponent, by a half-game in the standings, and they hold the tiebreaker based on head-to-head record. They will host NLDS Games 1 and 2 if they win at least as many of their final three games as the Dodgers.
Only tickets marked "Friday, October 2, 2015 -- Game 79" are valid for admission to Saturday's 1:10 p.m. game. Gates for that game will open at 11:10 a.m., with all fans required to exit the ballpark following the final out. Tickets marked "Saturday, October 3, 2015 - Game 80" remain valid for the originally scheduled 7:10 p.m. night game.
Free Shirt Friday T-shirts will be given out to all fans in attendance at the afternoon game. The Mets fleece blanket giveaway will go to the first 15,000 fans at the 7:10 p.m. game.
Fans holding tickets for Friday's game who do not wish to attend Game 1 Saturday can redeem them for complimentary tickets to any April 2016 home game excluding Opening Day, subject to availability, by mail or in person at the Citi Field Box Office. Redemption orders will be processed after individual tickets go on sale to the general public in the offseason.
Complimentary tickets to Friday's game and those marked "NO RAINCHECK" have no value other than admission for Saturday's Game 1.
