Moustakas, Davis earn Royals' April honors

KANSAS CITY -- Third baseman Mike Moustakas was named Royals Player of the Month for April, while right-hander Wade Davis received the honor as Royals Pitcher of the Month.

The Player of the Month award is determined by a combined vote of fans and local media, while the pitcher award is voted on by the local media.

Moustakas is second in the American League in both runs scored (19) and multihit games (11). He also ranks fifth with a .356 batting average. This is Moustakas' first Player of the Month award.

Davis has not been scored upon in nine innings, and he has also converted all four save chances. He leads all AL relievers with a 0.33 WHIP and has held batters to a .069 average (2-for-29). This is Davis' fourth Pitcher of the Month honor.
