Miller Park Homestand Highlights: July 21-27

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Brewers open a weeklong homestand at Miller Park tonight, beginning with a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds, and followed by a four-game set vs. the New York Mets. This marks the second meeting against the Reds at Miller Park this season and the only trip to Milwaukee by the Mets. Promotional details for the homestand include the following:

Boy Scout Parade - The Brewers will host a Boy Scout parade along the Miller Park warning track tonight from approximately 6:15 - 6:45 pm. For additional information, contact your local Boy Scout Troops.

Baseball Tomorrow Fund Check Presentation - Each year, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund teams up with Major League Baseball Clubs to organize equipment collection drives to support the growth of youth baseball and softball. This year, the Milwaukee Brewers collected 340 baseball and softball items from players and fans to benefit the James Beckum Little League, which provides youth programs to children in the Milwaukee community. In conjunction with the equipment day, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund will award a $5,000 grant to the James Beckum Little League to be used for the purchase of equipment. James Beckum Little League has been serving Milwaukee's youth through sports for over 40 years.
 
Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative - In support of the Mayor's Fatherhood Initiative to bring together the past, present and future by raising awareness about the importance of involved, responsible and committed fathers, the Brewers will host a group of fathers and their children at tonight's Brewers game. A lucky father and child from the group will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Community Achiever, presented by Allstate - The Milwaukee Brewers' community involvement initiative known as the Community Achiever Award, presented by Allstate will recognize residents throughout Wisconsin each month during the season for displaying extraordinary efforts in their community. Tomorrow, Zachary Blohm from Oak Creek will be recognized as July's Community Achiever. He will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Zussman Awards - The John Zussman Baseball and Softball Scholarship Awards honor outstanding student athletes in the Milwaukee Public School System. John Zussman formed the "Knothole Cub," which offered youth a chance to go to Milwaukee Braves games. John passed away but his daughter, Ann Lederman, continues his scholarship. On Wednesday, this year's Zussman Scholar Winners, including Meagan Bertram (softball) and Diego Avila (baseball) will be honored. Both are students from Ronald Regan College Preparatory School.

Jonathan Lucroy Autograph Session - All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy will appear at the Brewers Team Store by Majestic inside Miller Park's Hot Corner for an autograph signing from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Autographs will be free, and the first 250 people in line will receive a wristband guaranteeing a signature. If time allows, additional fans will be accommodated until 1:30 pm. Fans will be allowed to enter through the Miller Park Hot Corner entrance at 9 am, and autographs will be first come, first served. There is a limit of one autograph per person and no photos will be permitted in order to accommodate as many fans as possible.

RBI Central Regional Tournament - On Monday, July 28, the Milwaukee Brewers will be hosting the RBI (Reviving Baseball in the inner cities) Regional Tournament at Miller Park. Seven RBI teams throughout the Midwest will compete to play in the championship game, which will be played at Miller Park.
