Minnesota Twins announce 2014 schedule

Home Opener slated for April 7 vs. Oakland at Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS - ST PAUL, MN - The Minnesota Twins today announced their preliminary regular season schedule for the 2014 season; the team's 54th campaign in Twins Territory.

The Twins will open the season on the road against the Chicago White Sox (March 31, April 2-3) followed by three games in Cleveland against the Indians (April 4-6).

The Twins then return home for the Opening Series at Target Field against the Oakland Athletics (April 7, 9 and 10), a set against the Kansas City Royals (April 11-13) and a series against the Toronto Blue Jays (April 15-17).

The Twins will play 20 interleague games throughout the season. The home interleague schedule includes visits by the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 29 and 30, May 1), the Milwaukee Brewers (June 4 and 5), the San Diego Padres (August 5 and 6) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (Sept. 22-24). Meanwhile, the Twins will visit the San Diego Padres (May 20 and 21), the San Francisco Giants (May 23-25), the Milwaukee Brewers (June 2 and 3) and the Colorado Rockies (July 11-13).

The Twins 2014 schedule features 14 homes games in the month of April; 14 in May; 10 in June; 16 in July; 12 in August; and 15 in September. Other home schedule highlights include a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox (May 13-15) and a Fourth of July weekend series against the New York Yankees (July 3-6).

The Twins will play each of their American League Central Division rivals 19 times: the Detroit Tigers (9 home/10 away), the Kansas City Royals (10 home/9 away), the Chicago White Sox (10 home/9 away) and the Cleveland Indians (9 home/10 away). The Twins will face all American League Central Division teams three series at home and three series on the road.

All Saturday and road game times, as well as related broadcast information, will be announced at a later date.

Minnesota Twins season ticket holders will be among the first fans to receive the opportunity to purchase ticket strips for the 2014 MLB All-Star Events at Target Field and the Minneapolis Convention Center.
