Start times announced for potential tiebreaker game

Major League Baseball on Sunday announced the start times for a potential tiebreaker game between the A's and Mariners to be played on Monday, Sept. 29, as well as the 2014 Wild Card Games presented by Budweiser. The American League Wild Card Game will launch the 2014 Postseason on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 8:07 p.m. (ET) on TBS, while the National League Wild Card Game will be played the following night on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 8:07 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.

If the A's and Mariners are tied following Sunday's scheduled close to the regular season, a tiebreaker game would be played on Monday and be broadcast exclusively by ESPN according to the following schedule:

Entering play Sunday, the Kansas City Royals (88-73) and the Oakland Athletics (87-74) hold the two AL Wild Card spots, while the Seattle Mariners (86-75) remain in contention, 1.0 game behind the Athletics.

In the NL, the Wild Card matchup is assured of featuring the San Francisco Giants at the Pittsburgh Pirates.
