MLB Network to feature Kemp in 'My MLB Life'

ATLANTA -- Dodgers All-Star Matt Kemp will appear in the premiere episode of MLB Network's new series, "My MLB Life," on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. PT.

The four-part series is made up of 30-minute episodes profiling some of the top players in the game. Other episodes will feature Torii Hunter, CC Sabathia and Ryan Zimmerman.

The show is a lifestyle-focused documentary on the theme of "work hard, live well, give back," according to the producers. The camera crew followed Kemp to his new house in Paradise Valley, Ariz., as it was completed, to his offseason workouts at Arizona State University and to his hometown in Oklahoma, where Kemp participated in various charitable initiatives during the holidays.

Several of Kemp's relatives, including his mother, father and grandmother, were interviewed as well, talking about Kemp's childhood, how he chose baseball as his main sport in high school, and his initial start in the MLB after getting drafted by the Dodgers in 2003. Kemp's episode was filmed in December 2011 and May 2012.

Ken Gurnick is a reporter for MLB.com.
