MLB pays tribute to Derek Jeter in new television & print ads

As New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter nears the end of his career, Major League Baseball is celebrating the legacy he will leave behind. A new TV spot will debut this weekend showcasing the impact Jeter has had on the next generation, featuring Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim All-Star Mike Trout (who has said Jeter was his favorite player while growing up), Little League World Series stars Mo'ne Davis and Marquis Jackson, and other RBI, Little League, high school and college players emulating Jeter's iconic playing style and mannerisms.

The new spot - which features the tagline "A Model of Greatness" - was created in conjunction with MLB's marketing partner BBDO along with production company Greenpoint Pictures and The Hudson Dusters directing team of Michael Kuhn and Niles Roth.

The spot will begin running this weekend on ESPN, FOX, Fox Sports 1, TBS, MLB Network, ESPN Deportes and Fox Deportes. It can also be viewed today on MLB.com and MLBFanCave.com.

The league will also run a print ad paying tribute to Jeter in USA Today, the New York Post, New York Daily News and Metro New York. The ad is scheduled to run on Sept. 25, the day of his final scheduled regular season home game at Yankee Stadium.
