Moose made tracks from LA to KC

Mike Moustakas, 3B, Royals
Hometown: Los Angeles

Along with Astros third baseman Matt Dominguez, Moustakas went to Chatsworth High School, where he ascended the baseball prospect ranks to become the Royals' No. 2 overall selection in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft.

Dominguez went 10 picks after Moustakas to the Florida Marlins, making them just the seventh pair of first-round picks from the same high school since the Draft was established in 1965, according to The New York Times.

Moustakas' youth also included serving as a batboy for the New York Mets when his uncle, Tom Robson, was the hitting coach for the team.

On June 10, 2013, about 40 family and friends gathered at Angel Stadium to watch Moustakas make his Major League debut, just a few miles from the city in which he grew up.

"I'm about to live the dream right now," Moustakas said before taking the field. "It's a little overwhelming at times, but I'm happy that it's going to happen."
