More details arise in Hamilton shooting
Additional information, including details of a 911 call, has emerged regarding the Father's Day death of former Major Leaguer Darryl Hamilton, whom police in suburban Houston suspect was murdered by the mother of his 14-month-old child before the woman shot herself.
Hamilton and Monica Jordan, who reportedly broke up earlier this year, had settled a custody arrangement for their son two days earlier in a Houston courtroom. Hamilton's attorney, Gary Zimmerman, told the Houston Chronicle that the matter was routine, and that Hamilton was to pick up the child on Sunday for visitation, per the agreement. His body was found near the door of Jordan's Pearland, Texas, home with multiple gunshots.
"It just doesn't make sense from that vantage point," Zimmerman told the Daily News on Tuesday. "There was no tension other than the ordinary tension in that kind of deliberation. There was nothing that rises to the level that would make me think it was possible for her to pull out a gun and shoot someone."

Police found the bodies of both Hamilton and Jordan after getting a 911 call from Jordan's ex-husband, Rohaven Richards, who told the dispatcher he had just received a panicked telephone call from Jordan asking for authorities to be sent to her home.
"She was calling me crying, in desperation, asking me to call the police and to come get him, come get the baby," Richards said in the recording of his 911 call, which was released by the police on Tuesday.
The child was found in the home, unharmed, and was taken into the custody of Child Protective Services.
According to multiple news reports, Jordan had a history of domestic violence. She pleaded guilty in 2008 to felony arson after burning down a house where she and Richards had lived several years earlier while married. An attorney who represented Jordan in the case told the Daily News that she received a sentence of community service and continued to work as an attorney.
Hamilton was also the father of two sons with ex-wife Ursaline Hamilton, and had taken his older boys to a Houston Astros game on Saturday.
