New York's Robles disciplined

New York Mets pitcher Hansel Robles has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing a pitch in the head area of Cameron Rupp of the Philadelphia Phillies, with warnings in place for both teams, in the bottom of the sixth inning of the Wednesday, September 30th game at Citizens Bank Park. Joe Garagiola Jr., Senior Vice President of Standards & On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

Unless appealed, the suspension of Robles is scheduled to begin on Friday, when the Mets are to begin a three-game series against the Washington Nationals at Citi Field. If appealed, the discipline issued to Robles will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
