Arenado caps season as NL Player of the Month

Just take a look at the way Nolan Arenado started September, bashing a home run in six consecutive days, a new franchise record and the longest streak in the Majors since 2012. He then capped the season with an eight-game-hitting streak, going 11-for-29 with three homers and 13 RBIs during that span.

It should be easy to see why Arenado was named the National League Player of the Month for September/October.

For all of Arenado's success during a terrific 2015 campaign, the final month of the season may have been his best. Arenado batted .336/.364/.703, crushed 12 homers and drove in 35 runs, all at least matching a personal high for a month this season.

Arenado joins former teammate Troy Tulowitzki (15 homers and 40 RBIs in 2010) and Matt Holliday (10 home runs and 34 RBIs in '06) as the only Colorado players with a double-digit homer total and more than 30 RBIs during September, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Arenado finished the season with 42 home runs, which was tied with Washington's Bryce Harper for first place in the NL. He led the Majors with 130 RBIs and 354 total bases while playing strong defense at third base.
