Phillies unveil 2014 Minor League staff

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies on Wednesday announced their Minor League player development staff.

Former Phillies second baseman Mickey Morandini joins Triple-A Lehigh Valley as a coach. He spent the past three seasons as manager at Class A Lakewood. Dave Brundage, Sal Rende and Ray Burris return as IronPigs manager, coach and pitching coach, respectively.

Dusty Wathan returns as Double-A Reading manager. Dave Lundquist returns as pitching coach and Rob Ducey joins the team as a coach.

Former Phils bullpen coach Ramon Henderson will be the Class A Clearwater manager. Frank Cacciatore and Bob Milacki will be his coach and pitching coach, respectively.

Gregg Legg will manage Class A Lakewood. Lino Connell (coach) and Les Lancaster (pitching coach) will join him after spending last season with Class A Williamsport. Nelson Prada returns as Williamsport manager. Aaron Fultz is pitching coach and Shawn Williams will be a coach. He is the son of former Phillies bench coach Jimy Williams. The rookie-level Gulf Coast League Phils will be managed by Roly deArmas, along with coaches Rafael DeLima and Steve Schrenk (pitching).

The Minor League coordinator staff has some changes. Doug Mansolino has been promoted to field coordinator while Mike Compton, who had previously held that position, has been named senior advisor of player development. Carlos Arroyo enters his 38th year with the Phillies and first as the pitching coordinator, while Chris Truby joins the staff as the infield coordinator after four seasons as a Minor League manager for the Phils. The rest of the coordinator staff remains intact from last year: Andy Abad (outfield/baserunning), Andy Tracy (hitting) and Ernie Whitt (catching).
