Players of the Week
Pitcher: RHS Brody Colvin, Clearwater. Was 1-0 for 1 start, his most impressive outing of the season, 7 scoreless innings, 8 hits, 0 walks, 9 strikeouts, which tied his career high. Over last 2 starts, 2 runs, 13 innings, 16 strikeouts. He began the season in the rotation, moved to the bullpen for 5 appearances (May 26-June 9) and returned to the rotation. For the season, 4-4, 4.46 ERA. He also was the Pitcher of the Week for April 16-22. The 21-year-old was selected in the 7th round in 2009 out of St. Thomas More High School (LA) and signed by Mike Stauffer.

Player: 1B Chris Duffy, Lakewood. Hit .481 in 7 games, leading the organization with 7 runs and 13 hits, that included 1 double and 3 homers. He drove in 11. Ended the week on a 17-game hitting streak (. 477), boosting average from .321 to .405. Began season at Lakewood (.350, 7 games), went to Clearwater (.205, 20 games) and returned to BlueClaws on May 29. Has reached base in all 27 games since returning to Lakewood. The 24-year-old was selected in the 26th round in 2010 out of the University of Central Florida and signed by Chip Lawrence.

Lehigh Valley IronPigs, International League North Division5-3, 1st place, including a day-night doubleheader sweep on Sunday . . . Included were two walk-off wins, Tuffy Gosewisch double on Friday and bases-loaded walk to 1B Cody Overbeck in second game Sunday, IronPigs' 8th walk-off victory . . . INF Kevin Fransden, .343 in 8 games, leading club with 6 runs, 12 hits, 5 doubles. 10-game hitting streak ended in Sunday's 1st game; he and Reading's Leandro Castro share the organization lead with 26 doubles . . . CF Kyle Hudson has hit in 14 of last 18, including 7 multi-hit games . . . INF-OF Pete Orr, 11 hits, 6 RBI, 4 steals . . . RHS Tyler Cloyd (8-1) was the lone starter to pick up a win, 1 run, 6 innings on Thursday, his 4th straight win . . . Other wins: RH Tyson Brummett (3-1), 3.2 scoreless innings on Tuesday; RH Phillippe Aumont (2-1), who added his 10th save in Sunday's 1st game; RH Michael Cicso (1-0) and RH J. C. Ramirez (1-0) . . . Cisco, in his 1st AAA appearance, tossed 3 scoreless innings on Thursday for a save; in his last 14 combined (Reading-LV) outings, 3-2, 0.57 ERA . . . Brummett made is 1st AAA start in 2nd game Sunday, 5 scoreless innings . . . RHR Ryan Duke tossed 2 scoreless innings in that game and then returned to Reading the next day; he's pitched at Lakewood, Clearwater, AA and AAA this season . . . RHR Justin Friend made his 1st AAA appearance on Saturday, 2 innings, 2 runs. All-Stars: North squad: Cloyd, Fransden and Ryne Sandberg as a coach.

LF Leandro Castro, .391, club-high 11 hits, 6 doubles, 8 RBI; boosted average from .284 to .307 during a 10-game hitting streak . . . 2B Cesar Hernandez, .321, 3 doubles among 9 hits . . . 1B Darin Ruf, 2 homers (#13-14), 6 RBI, 6 walks in 7 games . . . SS Troy Hanzawa, 7 games, 7 hits, 5 RBI . . . LHS Mario Hollands (2-1) won on Tuesday, 1 run, 6 innings and lost on Sunday, 6 runs, 6 innings . . . Two other starters picked up wins, RH Julio Rodriguez (5-1) and RH Trevor May (7-6). 4th win went to RHR Ryan Duke (1-0) on Friday, his AA debut . . . All-Stars: Dustan Wathan, Frank Cacciatore and Bob Milacki will direct the Eastern team for the July 11 All-Star Game in Reading's EnergyFirst Stadium. Eight players have been chosen: Ruf, Hernandez, Friend, Valle, Hanzawa, Rodriguez, Castro and Bonilla.

Stole 6 bases in 7-5 win on Monday in Palm Beach; out-hit 13-8, but took advantage of a passed ball and 5 errors . . . C Cameron Rupp, had 5 hits, including 2 doubles, 3 homers (#5-6-7) and club-high 6 RBI; hitting .313 in last 10 . . . OF Zach Collier, hit in all 7 games, but had only 7 hits . . . Wins went to LHS Jesse Biddle (4-3), 3 runs, 6 innings on Monday; LH Austin Wright (7-3), 1 run, 7 innings on Tuesday and Colvin . . . Wright lost on Sunday, 7 runs (2 earned) in 5 innings . . . RHR Hector Neris posted 6th save on Monday; 7th save for RH Tyler Knigge on Tuesday. Knigge hasn't given up a run since May 29, 11.2 innings over 10 appearances
