Wang opts out of Minor League pact with Reds
MINNEAPOLIS -- Veteran pitcher Chien-Ming Wang opted out of his Minor League contract with the Reds and became a free agent, MLB.com confirmed on Sunday.
According to the China Times in Taiwan and GlobalSportsIntegration.com, Wang is expected to sign a deal with the White Sox.
Wang was 8-5 with a 3.70 ERA in 19 starts for Triple-A Louisville this season. He was signed by Cincinnati on Dec. 18 and invited to Spring Training.
In 2013, Wang pitched six games in the Majors for the Blue Jays and also previously pitched for the Yankees and Nationals.
