Pittsburgh Pirates announce July 4 to be Military Appreciation Day at PNC Park

Pirates and GovX offering complimentary tickets to military personnel for July 4 game

The Pirates and GovX have announced complimentary tickets are now being offered to active duty military personnel and veterans of the United States Armed Forces for the Thursday, July 4 game vs. the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:35 p.m.

In honor of those who currently serve our country, as well as those who have served in the past, the Pirates and GovX.com -- a dedicated website for military, law enforcement, first responders and related government agencies -- have partnered to provide a day of enjoyment at PNC Park for service men and women.

“July 4 is a special day for our country and the Pirates are taking this opportunity to pay tribute to the men and women who serve or have served our nation,” said Bob Nutting, Pirates Chairman of the Board. “We are honored and humbled to have these brave men and women and their families as our guests at PNC Park.”

All active duty military personnel and veterans can request up to four tickets per military I.D. in advance of the July 4 game, or at the ballpark on July 4 (based on availability). Tickets will be made available while supplies last and are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

There are three options for military members to request tickets for the July 4 game, and personnel are encouraged to secure their tickets in advance of the game date (Option 1):
1) All military personnel and veterans are encouraged to go to the PNC Park Main Box Office starting now through July 4 and present their current military ID or other identification recognizing their service in the military.
2) On July 4, military service personnel and veterans may report to the special Military Appreciation Booth on Federal Street beginning at 11:30 a.m. to pick up complimentary tickets for the game while supplies last.
3) Military and military service organizations can request tickets of 15 to 200 for distribution to members and their families by visiting pirates.com/usa and completing the group ticket request form. Once the group form is completed, please mail to the address below by Monday, June 17 at 5 p.m.
