Rangers announce Spring Training schedule
Slate includes 16 games at Surprise Stadium
ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will play two games against the Indians at Globe Life Park in Arlington to close out their 2016 Spring Training schedule.
The games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT Friday, April 1 and 1:05 p.m. Saturday, April 2, according to the Spring Training schedule released by the Rangers on Tuesday. The Rangers will open the regular season against the Mariners on April 4 in Arlington.
The Rangers are scheduled to play 33 games in Spring Training, including 29 in Arizona. They are playing two against the Royals on March 18-19 in San Antonio as part of the fourth annual Big League Weekend. Texas will play 16 games at Surprise Stadium, including 14 home games and two "away" games against the World Series champion Royals.
The two teams will be entering their 14th season sharing the Surprise complex and will open the Cactus League schedule on March 2-3. They will also play again on March 30.
In addition, the Rangers will play the D-backs, Cubs, White Sox, Reds, Indians, Rockies, Angels, Dodgers, Brewers, A's, Padres, Giants, and Mariners once each in Surprise. The Rangers will have night games against the Brewers on March 17 and the Padres on March 25. All other games in Surprise will start at 1:05 p.m. MT except the March 30 game against the Royals. That starts at 12:05 p.m. MT.
Individual ticket prices for 2016 Rangers games at Surprise Stadium are: Lower Premium -- $30; Lower Dugout -- $29; Upper Dugout -- $26; Infield -- $25; Plaza -- $19; and Lawn -- $8. The Rangers-Cubs game on March 23 will be a Premium Game with ticket prices ranging from $13 to $35. Full-season, half-season and 7-game ticket packages are also available, as well as group-ticket packages. Parking is free to all games at Surprise Stadium.
