Raph Rhymes Flips on Inside-the-Park Home Run

“And the dismount... nailed it!” That’s what was going through my head when I watched this a second and third time. Pretty unreal play. Like the announcers said, the throw drew the catcher up the line, causing the collision - it wasn’t like he was trying to flip him over his head. Thankfully everybody seemed just fine after the play. The only gripe I have is that the umpire called interference, awarding Rhymes home. That looks way less cool in the scorebook than “inside the park homerun, also Rhymes hit the catcher and did a flip and was safe at home.” If they had a stat for acrobatics, Rhymes would be the leader in that category.

PS. Is Raph Rhymes the best name in baseball? Regardless of level? Has to be. Raph.

PPS. Let’s just be thankful he didn’t learn how to slide with Domingo Ayala.
