Red Sox win challenge, get call overturned

ST. PETERSBURG -- In the fifth inning of Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Rays, the Red Sox issued a successful replay challenge.

With two outs, shortstop Xander Bogaerts fielded a grounder by James Loney and stepped on second base as a sliding Wil Myers tried to beat him to the bag. Myers was ruled safe, prompting Red Sox manager John Farrell to come out and challenge the call.

After a review, the call was overturned and the inning was over.
