Frazier named All-Star Game ambassador
Third baseman to serve as official spokesman for Midsummer Classic
CINCINNATI -- Going back to his pre-teen days as a star player in the 1998 Little League World Series, Reds third baseman Todd Frazier has been comfortable and outgoing around people and media. It seemingly made Frazier a natural choice to be the official 2015 All-Star spokesperson, which was announced on Tuesday at Great American Ball Park.
Cincinnati will be hosting the 86th All-Star Game on July 14, and numerous events that lead to the Midsummer Classic.
"It means a lot to me, especially in Cincinnati," Frazier said. "You've got a lot of people that are excited about this, me as well. Hopefully, we can get a bunch of guys in the All-Star Game and we'll see from there. To be asked to is an honor, and hopefully I can represent Cincinnati at that time."

Frazier, 29, broke into the Major Leagues in 2011, and became a first-time National League All-Star in 2014.
"Last year was a fun experience for me. God willing, I can get in again and have a couple of guys to look up to and help out," Frazier said.
Frazier will be an ambassador for the Reds and Major League Baseball in all things All-Star related, including doing his part for creating buzz and awareness about the multitude of events taking place around Cincinnati during All-Star Week.

"I talk a lot about Cincinnati and a lot about what's going to be happening. I know there will be a bunch to do from [July 8] until the 14th when the All-Star Game is."
Some of those events include the T-Mobile All-Star FanFest at the Duke Energy Convention Center, the Color Run MLB All-Star 5K, presented by Nike on July 11, All-Star Sunday at Great American Ball Park featuring the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game and the All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game on July 12, the Gatorade All-Star workout day and Home Run Derby on July 13 and the All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Chevrolet before the big game itself on the 14th.
Past All-Star spokespersons have included star players like Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols, Joe Mauer and David Wright.
Frazier embraced his new role and couldn't wait to spread the All-Star message.
"I just love doing these kinds of things," Frazier said. "When you play for a city that loves you and loves your team, you've got to give back a little bit. Something as little as this means a lot."
