Rene Lachemann Gives Advice to Young Fan

I absolutely love this video. Rockies first base coach Rene Lachemann just dropping knowledge. Cell phone? Don’t get one. Video games? Don’t play them. You’ve got homework? Get it done. Advice until next Tuesday. I wish Coach Lachemann could give me some advice. Give me a general sense of direction. Actually, anybody could benefit from this. Hey, Coach, I just took a gander at your schedule and you’re going to be in New York in early August. I’d love it if you stopped by and gave the Cave Dwellers a few drops of your ocean of knowledge.

The only gripe I have with this is the whole “don’t go out with a baseball player” part. Just throwing me under the bus here. As a general rule of thumb, he’s probably right. Actually he’s definitely right. But is there a cutoff for this? Like what if you didn’t play pro ball? Or does this only apply to current, active baseball players? I’m not trying to make myself out to be the exception to the rule, but at the same time I kind of am. I’m just going to assume he means current, active players because if every girl takes this advice to heart, I’m going to end up being the Little League coach that has no kids on the team.
