Replay confirms Posey's positioning while making tag

Ventura asks for crew chief review of play at the plate in 10th inning

SAN FRANCISCO -- A crew chief review of a play at the plate in the 10th inning of Tuesday night's 3-2 White Sox victory over the Giants confirmed the initial ruling.

With one out and runners on second and third, the Giants brought the infield in for Alejandro De Aza, who hit a grounder right to second baseman Matt Duffy. Duffy's threw home to Buster Posey, who tagged Jordan Danks before he reached the plate. Ventura asked for a review of Posey's positioning at the plate, but the out call was confirmed.

The White Sox scored the game-winning run one batter later when Gordon Beckham's two-out single plated Moises Sierra.
