Report of K-Rod domestic dispute surfaces

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers are aware of a legal situation involving soon-to-be free agent reliever Francisco Rodriguez, who was arrested in September in suburban Milwaukee for domestic violence, but so far has not been charged.

Milwaukee's CBS TV affiliate reported the news on Friday and said the incident involved Rodriguez and his girlfriend in the Town of Wales, west of Milwaukee. Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel told the station that he was still reviewing the case.

Brewers vice president of communications Tyler Barnes told MLB.com on Saturday that the club was aware of the incident. He issued a statement:

"While we are aware of the arrest report, we have no knowledge of charges being filed. To that end, it would be premature for us to offer any additional comment."

Rodriguez, who turns 31 in January, will be a free agent after the World Series. He made 109 appearances for the Brewers with a 3.65 ERA after a July 2011 trade from the Mets.

He was also arrested in August 2010 and charged with third-degree assault after an altercation with his father-in-law outside the family lounge at Citi Field. Rodriguez later plead guilty to a lesser charge and underwent anger management classes.
