Arenado hits second home run of Spring Training

PHOENIX -- Josh Reddick and Brandon Moss each homered for the first time this spring, combining for four RBIs, in the A's 6-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday afternoon at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Reddick, who compiled a team-leading 32 home runs last year, clobbered the first pitch of his second at-bat against Colorado starter Jhouyls Chacin for a three-run homer to right-center to give Oakland a 3-0, third-inning lead.

After Eric Sogard extended the A's lead to four with an RBI single in the fourth, Moss upped it to 5-0 with a solo shot to dead center off right-hander Jeff Manship in the fifth.

Chacin lasted 2 1/3 innings in his second start of the spring, giving up three runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Colorado joined the home run-happy day in the sixth, when Nolan Arenado took A's southpaw Andrew Werner deep for a three-run homer, his second of the spring. Carlos Gonzalez, who walked twice and singled in his three plate appearances, scored on the play.

Oakland answered in the bottom of the inning with a Michael Choice sacrifice fly to make it 6-3.

Tommy Milone made his Cactus League debut for the A's, pitching two hitless innings while allowing just one walk. Milone threw 36 pitches.

Up next: Todd Helton is set to make his Cactus League debut Sunday as the Rockies host the A's in a 1:10 p.m. MT game, which can be heard live on Gameday Audio. Jorge De La Rosa and Tyler Chatwood will pitch for Colorado against Oakland's A.J. Griffin.

Helton hasn't played in a game since going on the disabled list last Aug. 6 with a torn labrum that ultimately resulted in season-ending hip surgery. This season could be the last for the five-time All-Star who turns 40 in August, and Helton is eager to finish on a high note after a career low .238 average in 2012 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs in 69 games. With the longer Spring Training this year, manager Walt Weiss wanted to give Helton additional time before resuming his playing routine.
