Rotterdam United Baseball to host field dedication ceremony

Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant of $39,000 USD awarded to support a youth baseball field

WHAT:            Rotterdam United Baseball (RUB) will hold a field dedication ceremony beginning at 4:00 p.m. Central European Time on Friday, June 28th. The Dutch National Baseball Team will be on hand to celebrate the renovation of a multi-use field into a youth baseball field in the Rotterdam municipality of Kralingen Crooswijk. The Baseball Tomorrow Fund provided a grant in the amount of $39,269 USD to finance the renovation project.

DETAILS:       Rotterdam United Baseball was established in 2002 to promote and organize baseball in the Rotterdam area of the Netherlands. The organization will offer the “Street Baseball” program, developed by the Dutch Baseball and Softball Federation to facilitate the development of the game at the youth level. The field renovation project will allow RUB to establish the program in the municipality of Kralingen Crooswijk.    RUB will host baseball and softball skills clinics, lessons and games, all facilitated by experienced instructors. The Neptunus, a nearby baseball club, will also provide skills clinics and lessons at the new field and at its existing home field.
