Omaha Storm Chasers (33-23)

Kevin Kouzmanoff singled home Tony Abreu in the eighth inning as Omaha edged Iowa for a 2-2 series split. Anthony Seratelli finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in the first. Wil Myers hit a two-run blast in the third, giving him five home runs in 16 games with Omaha and 18 on the year. Omaha starter Ryan Verdugo scattered two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings, plus three batters.

NW Arkansas Naturals (26-27)

Midland 8, NW Arkansas 4

The Naturals were swept in a three-game series at Midland. Starter Chris Dwyer struggled with his control, allowing four runs on a hit and seven walks over 1.2 innings. Bryan Paukovits followed with four innings, yielding a run on four hits and two walks. Paulo Orlando led Northwest Arkansas with three hits, all singles. Rey Navarro added two hits and two RBI. The Naturals are at Frisco (Rangers) on Saturday.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (24-28)

Frederick at Wilmington, postponed due to rain

The Blue Rocks were rained out for the first time in 2012. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, with the first game set for a 5:05 p.m. ET start.

Kane County Cougars (29-26)

The Cougars split a pair of seven-inning games at Clinton. Runey Davis had two doubles, two RBI and two runs in Game 1, while Tim Ferguson added three hits and a run. Starter Robinson Yambati held Clinton to a pair of unearned runs on three hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. Cody Fassold scattered three walks in 2.1 innings of relief work for win. Daniel Mateo and Kenny Swab had two hits apiece in the second game. Angel Baez went the distance in defeat, permitting two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out eight over six innings.
