Rumor roundup: Suitors growing for Kazmir

Major League Baseball's Hot Stove season continued Sunday, as several prized young assets were rumored to be drawing significant interest on the trade market.

Here's a look at some of the top stories from around the big leagues:

Royals, O's in the mix for Kazmir
The Royals and Orioles are reportedly among the teams interested in free-agent pitcher Scott Kazmir, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Kazmir met with the Astros last week to discuss a return to Houston. The A's and Pirates also have been previously linked to the veteran left-hander.

Kazmir, who turns 32 in January, has played in parts of 11 seasons with the Rays, Angels, Indians, A's and Astros. He started last season strong, posting an ERA of 2.38 through 18 starts with the A's before being dealt to Houston in July. Kazmir wasn't as sharp with the Astros; he went 2-6 with a 4.17 ERA in 13 starts.

Rays' hurlers drawing interest
For teams seeking an upgrade to their pitching staff, Tampa Bay may be the place to start, as the Rays boast several young arms who could be desirable trade chips this offseason.

Starters Jake Odorizzi, Drew Smyly and Matt Moore are generating interest from other clubs, per FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. And for teams in need of bullpen help, Jake McGee and Brad Boxberger also remain top trade targets, according to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi. Rosenthal notes another trade option for the Rays is 28-year-old righty Alex Cobb, who will miss the majority of the 2016 season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery and could be viewed as a buy-low candidate.

Tampa Bay has already dealt one pitcher, right-hander Nathan Karns, this winter and could do so again before the offseason is up. With the rising cost of free-agent hurlers, teams may be increasingly willing to turn to the trade market as an alternative to upgrade the pitching staff.

Braves fielding calls on Inciarte
Though he just landed with the Braves on Wednesday as part of the Shelby Miller haul, Ender Inciarte could be on the move again this offseason.

Rosenthal reported Sunday that the Cubs are among several teams to have inquired about the 25-year-old outfielder. If the Braves do shop Inciarte, they would reportedly be seeking young starting pitching in exchange.

Inciarte batted .303/.338/.408 with 21 stolen bases while playing all three outfield positions last season. He's under team control through 2020.

Arias, O'Sullivan ink Minor League deals
A pair of Major League veterans signed Minor League deals, with Joaquin Arias joining the D-backs and Sean O'Sullivan headed to Boston.

Heyman was the first to report the Arias signing, while Matt Eddy of Baseball America broke the Sullivan news. Both deals include invites to Major League Spring Training.

Arias, 31, has played in 474 big league games across eight seasons with the Rangers, Mets and Giants. He hit .207/.207/.276 through 40 games with San Francisco in 2015.

O'Sullivan started 13 games for the Phillies last season, recording a 6.08 ERA in 71 innings. He's pitched in six seasons from 2009-15 with the Angels, Royals, Padres and Phillies, compiling an 11-23 record and 5.95 ERA.
