Syracuse to host Bronx youth groups at Dec. 29 walkthrough

The Syracuse University football team will host members of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Bronx Colts Youth Tackle Football League during their final walkthrough on Wednesday, Dec. 29 beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Yankee Stadium.

As one of the many community activities during the inaugural New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week, the Big East representatives have invited the local Bronx community groups to watch their final tune-up before the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday. Following the team's walk-through, Syracuse head coach and Bronx native Doug Marrone along with select Syracuse players will host a question-and-answer session with the youth groups during a luncheon held in the Yankee Stadium FedEx Meeting and Conference Center.

Prior to the game Thursday, the Syracuse and Kansas State marching bands will hold a community showcase at Babe Ruth Plaza, located just outside of the Stadium, between the Gate 2 and Gate 6 entrances, from 12:15 until 1:30 p.m. Each team's bands will perform a medley of traditional game day songs prior to kickoff.

During the New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week, both participating schools' players, coaches and staff are taking part in events, showcasing their respective universities to the New York metropolitan area. Special events, promotions and community outreach are taking place throughout New York City during the week of the bowl game to create an unforgettable experience for fans, families and visitors to New York City.

Kickoff for the New Era Pinstripe Bowl is scheduled for 3:22 p.m. on Dec. 30. The matchup, featuring Syracuse and Kansas State, will be nationally televised by ESPN, which has also secured national and local radio rights for ESPN Radio.
