Texas Rangers Miracle League Field Groundbreaking

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will join with the City of Southlake and the Miracle League of Southlake to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Texas Rangers Miracle League Field, TODAY, WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 at 11:00 a.m.

The groundbreaking will take place at the site of the new field, Bicentennial Park, which is located at 400 N. White Chapel Road in Southlake (76092). All media outlets are welcome to cover today's event.

Participating in the groundbreaking ceremony will be City of Southlake Mayor John Terrell, Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation President and team Hall of Famer Jim Sundberg, Southlake Parks Development Corporation Board member and City Council member Carolyn Morris, and Miracle League of Southlake President Phil Meyer. Also in attendance will be Rangers second baseman and Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation member Ian Kinsler, Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus, and Rangers Hall of Fame outfielder Rusty Greer.

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation is making a $100,000 donation towards the building of the new Miracle League field in Southlake. The Texas Rangers Miracle League Field in Southlake will be the fourth facility for the Miracle League of DFW, joining Arlington, Frisco, and Irving. Miracle League of DFW is working to bring joy to communities that one day every child will have the opportunity to play ball across DFW.

The construction of the Texas Rangers Miracle League Field is part of a series of improvements scheduled for Bicentennial Park, which is Southlake's premiere park facility. Other upgrades will include a new playground, new concession/restroom facility, enhancement to the original baseball 4-plex, park connection to White Chapel Blvd., new park maintenance facility, parking, trails, enhanced landscape, and irrigation improvements, including an additional water well.
