The MLB Fan Cave #ASG Bump

The Cave Dwellers and I have been working on a theory. We have noticed that when a MLB player visits the MLB Fan Cave, they start performing better in their next games. We call this phenomenon the “Fan Cave Bump.”

For example, just after their visits to the Cave, Edwin Jackson of the Nationals threw a complete game and Jeff Francoeur of the Royals hit a couple of HRs against the Yankees. There are plenty of other examples, but after the 2012 MLB All-Star Game rosters were announced, we noticed that a huge number of those players actually came through the Cave this year! Here’s the list of 2012 All-Stars who are also Fan Cave alums:

-Adam “Put a Bird on It” Jones, CF, Baltimore Orioles

-Aroldis Chapman, LHP, Cincinnati Reds

-Billy Butler, 1B/DH, Kansas City Royals

-C.C. Sabathia, LHP, New York Yankees

-Justin Verlander, RHP, Detroit Tigers

-Chris Sale, LHP, Chicago White Sox

-Curtis Granderson, OF, New York Yankees

-David Price, LHP, Tampa Bay Rays

-Derek Jeter, SS, New York Yankees

-Gio Gonzalez, LHP, Washington Nationals

-R.A. Dickey, RHP, New York Mets

-Jay Bruce, OF, Cincinnati Reds

-Joe Mauer, C, Minnesota Twins

-Mark Trumbo, 1B/3B/OF, Los Angeles Angels

-Miguel Cabrera (aka Miggy Poco), 3B, Detroit Tigers

-Pablo Sandoval, 3B, San Francisco Giants

-Robinson Cano, 2B, New York Yankees

This is a call to action for all MLB players: Come by the MLB Fan Cave if you are interested in, 1) having a better chance at becoming an All-Star, and 2) getting an immediate boost in on-field performance. It’s that easy!
