Tigers Return Home Next Week to Host the White Sox and Rockies in Six-Game Homestand

Detroit, MI- The Tigers return home next week to begin a six-game homestand at Comerica Park. The homestand begins with a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox. First pitch for Tuesday and Wednesday's games are at 7:08 p.m., while the series finale on Thursday is scheduled for 1:08 p.m. Interleague Play continues next weekend as the Tigers host the Colorado Rockies for three games. First pitch on Friday and Saturday is at 7:08 p.m. The homestand wraps up on Sunday with a 1:08 p.m. start.

Tuesday, July 29 vs. Chicago White Sox at 7:08 p.m. Gates Open at 5:00 p.m.
·  Christmas in July: Why wait until December to celebrate the holiday season? Christmas in July, sponsored by the Parade Company returns to Comerica Park on Tuesday. Santa Claus will pose for pictures at Gate A with fans and participate in the "Prance Around the Park" pre-game on-field parade featuring 400 Salvation Army Day Campers, the Detroit Tigers Kids Club Grand Marshall and a dance performance by the elves from Deborah's Stage Door Dancers. Musical entertainment for the special occasion includes Christmas music throughout the ballpark. Salvation Army Red Kettles will be located at all entrances to the ballpark so fans can help celebrate the season of giving.
· The first 10,000 fans will receive clown noses, courtesy of The Parade Company.
·  Gloves for Kids Autograph Signing: Tigers catcher Bryan Holaday will be appearing at the ABC Warehouse in Southgate from 12:00-1:00 p.m. as part of the Gloves for Kids program. During each visit, a Tigers player signs a collectible poster for the fans in attendance. In addition, free Little Caesars pizza and soft drinks will be served. The ABC Warehouse appearances are to promote the Gloves for Kids "Weekend of Giving" September 5-7, 2014 at Comerica Park when CBS Radio stations and the Tigers will be collecting equipment outside the main gate. Gloves for Kids is a program designed to provide Detroit's youth the sporting equipment necessary to participate in organized baseball and softball.
·  Game Ball Delivery: The game ball will be delivered by Sergeant Dale Gage of the United States Army from Flint, Michigan.
· Detroit native and nine time GRAMMY winner Jack White will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. White recently released his second solo album Lazaretto, the follow up to 2012's GRAMMY nominated Blunderbuss, which debuted at #1 on the U.S. albums chart and broke the SoundScan record for first week vinyl sales. White began his career as an upholsterer in Southwest Detroit before starting the White Stripes in 1997 and eventually founding the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather. In 2009, White opened the doors to his very own Nashville-based record label, Third Man Records. White is currently on a world tour in support of his latest album, Lazaretto, including two sold out shows at Detroit's Fox Theatre and Masonic Temple Theatre. Additionally, the Third Man Rolling Record Store will be parked at Columbia Plaza at Comerica Park from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday night.
· The national anthem will be performed by Lisa Page Brooks.

·  Kinsler's Kids Program: Through the generosity of Tigers infielder Ian Kinsler and his wife Tess, the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, the Kinsler family invites 20 guests from local charitable organizations focused on serving the needs of children to attend a Tigers baseball game. Kinsler's Kids provides families the opportunity to enjoy a special evening of Tigers baseball at Comerica Park in the Kinsler Family luxury suite, "Kinsler's Kids" t-shirts, ballpark fare catering and an autographed photo signed by Ian Kinsler. Tonight's "Kinsler's Kids" are from the Children's Hospital of Michigan. On Friday, families from The Children's Center will attend the game through Kinsler's Kids. The Children's Center leads the way in providing an integrated approach to community mental health that treats the whole child and the whole family. With community partners, The Children's Center offers meaningful solutions that address mental, physical and behavioral health, abuse and neglect, and poverty challenges currently faced by over 100,000 children in the Greater Detroit area.  
·  Justin Verlander and Detroit Tigers Host Johnny Agar: During the 2014 Tigers Winter Caravan, many Tigers players met an inspirational young man, Johnny Agar of Rockford, Michigan, who was born with cerebral palsy. Son of former Tigers prospect Jeff Agar, Johnny harbors a competitive spirit akin to his father. The father-son team has competed in many races, with Jeff pushing Johnny in a jogger. It was his competitive spirit that drove Johnny to work towards crossing the finish line of his own accord at a local 5K race in August, 2012. Johnny's story was featured on ESPN's "E60" in 2013. Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander was so inspired by Johnny's story that he has personally invited Johnny to be his guest at tonight's game. Johnny and has family will watch batting practice from the field, have the chance to meet Verlander and will enjoy the game from Verlander's luxury suite.
·  Game Ball Delivery: The game ball will be delivered by Lieutenant Ryan Zaleski of the United States Navy from Traverse City, Michigan.
· The national anthem will be performed by Renae Murphy.

·  Verlander's Victory for Veterans: For each of his home starts, Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. Veterans share 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. Food and beverage is provided for the guests courtesy of Verlander. Veterans receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander while all guests receive a Verlander's Victory for Veterans t-shirt.
·  Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season. This weekend, the raffle will take place on Friday and Saturday. The partner charity for this weekend's 50/50 raffle is the Centro Multicultural La Familia, whose mission is to provide culturally-competent support services to families in a holistic approach in order to improve their quality of life. Tickets will be sold on a digital platform and are three for $5, 10 for $10 and 40 for $20. The winner will be announced on the Comerica Park scoreboard before the end of the game. Since inception of the program in 2009, the 50/50 Charity Raffle program has raised more than $741,900 for charity with the single largest one-game prize of the program being $17,019.00.
·  Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez Interview: As a kickoff to the 2014 ¡Fiesta Tigres! Activities, fans will have the opportunity to experience an up-close and personal one-on-one interview with Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. The interview will take place at 6 p.m. on the Comerica Park concourse in the Big Cat Court. Rodriguez will be interviewed by MLB.com international reporter, Jesse Sanchez.
· The national anthem will be performed by The Lutheran Choral Aires.
· Following the game there will be Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Pepsi (weather permitting).

Saturday, August 2 vs. Colorado Rockies at 7:08 p.m. Gates Open at 5:00 p.m.
·  ¡Fiesta Tigres! Celebration: The Tigers will host the ninth annual ¡Fiesta Tigres! celebration, sponsored by Miller Lite, to recognize and honor the contributions of Hispanic and Latino players to the game of baseball. Current Tigers players with Hispanic or Latino heritage will be honored as part of the ¡Fiesta Tigres! Celebration. In addition, the Tigers will host Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez, a member of the 2006 Detroit Tigers World Series team, who will be honored in a special pregame ceremony and will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. ¡Fiesta Tigres! Will feature live entertainment on the concourse from traditional Mexican Ballet Folklorico, Moyocoyani Izel and Raices Mexicanas de Detroit dance groups, Samba 1 Brazilian Dance Group from Chicago, live salsa and merengue band Orquesta Sensacional, Cuban Jazz by Tumbao Bravo, premiere guitar duo Los Primos, DJ Tony Toca spinning the latest reggeton, bachata and a variety of Spanish hits, Mariachi Gallos de Oro and Mariachi Juvenil. Returning to ¡Fiesta Tigres! In 2014, the Tigers will wear a special alternate uniform with the Spanish translation of "Tigers" on the chest. The first 15,000 fans 21-and-older will receive an Ivan 'Pudge' Rodriguez Collectible Figurine, courtesy of Miller Lite. A special Tigers edition of Mi Gente Magazine will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans upon exit. Mi Gente Magazine is a Saginaw based Hispanic lifestyle magazine. · The national anthem will be performed by 11-year-old Brooklyn Stack.
·  First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by brothers Hunter and Braden Gandee from Temperance, Michigan. Hunter, an 8^th grader, raised national awareness for cerebral palsy, a movement disorder that Braden was born with by successfully walking 40 miles over two days with Braden, 7, strapped to his back, a highway walk Hunter dubbed the "Cerebral Palsy Swagger."
· All Sunday home games are Kids Days at Comerica Park. All kids 14-and-younger will receive a free promotional item as part of the "Every Kid, Every Sunday" giveaway guarantee, can enjoy free rides courtesy of Kroger on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel, can take part in free face painting, have the chance to win a Fisher Price mini-Corvette and are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases courtesy of Aquafina following the game, weather permitting.
